I’m super excited to tell you that today I opened a package and in it was an author’s copy of my first book – Awesome Physics Experiments for Kids: 40 Fun Science Projects and Why They Work! (commence squealing)

Kids are naturally curious, making them some of the best scientists.  We always want to nurture that, so we let them experiment, we let them make messes and then we let them do it all over again.  But, do we ever stop and ask them to try to explain why something happens?  I’ve shared a collection of my favorite physics experiments that I’ve used with my students as investigations or as demos, along with the “Hows and the Whys” for each.

Physics plays such an important role and impacts our everyday life.  Computers, planes, architecture, cooking, and even space travel are just some of the things that wouldn’t be possible without the physics-based ideas that played a role in their formation.  Already being curious about how things work in the natural world, now paired with awesome experiments and the explanation behind them will open up a new world for your young scientist.

Kids today are growing up in a world that is so complex with technology and innovation that scientific literacy is key for them to make sense of it all, and this book is the perfect place to start.
